ROVER 75 parts: find out more!
The Rover 75 model was manufactured between 1999 and 2005 in the British cities of Oxford and Birmingham. In 1999 and 2000 it was recognized as the Japan Import Car of the Year according to the Automotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference of Japan. At the same period, the editors of the What Car? British magazine called it the Car of the Year, and the staff of the Auto Express periodical – the World Car. Starting from 2005, similar vehicles Roewe 750 and, from 2006, MG 7 were produced in China.
The background of Rover 75
The vehicle was a successor of the 600 and 800 models. It was introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1998. The company manufactured only one generation of the car, marked as RJ. At first, only saloons were produced, but in 2001 the Tourer estate cars also entered the production. In 2002, the Vanden Plas limousine appeared.
The exterior was made in a classic British style. It featured double round headlights, chrome elements around the car body, a compact rectangular radiator grille. The boot door of the estate car had a window that could be opened separately. The passenger compartment could be trimmed with nut wood, velour, leather.
The cars were fitted with two front airbags, ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and traction control system (TCS). The maker also offered the Hi-Line branded multimedia system and the speed limit function. Besides, the vehicle could be equipped with an anti-theft system with the Trackstar function which allowed for tracking the car in case it was stolen. Both axles were fitted with disc brakes.
The features of Rover 75 RJ (facelift)
In 2004, the manufacturer made the conservative exterior of the car more modern. In particular, the radiator grille became larger, and the front bumper got two small air vents. High and low beam lights were united in a single light cluster. Now they were fitted with halogen bulbs. Higher trim levels offered seats with lateral support, natural oak trim in the passenger compartment, sunroof, rain sensors, cruise control and parking sensor.
