Core exchange

When you purchase a spare part marked “core part" or "exchange part”, you have to pay a core charge in addition to the price of the spare part itself. Core charges only apply to items produced in the European Union. According to EU legislation, the core charge is the amount that the manufacturer requires as a deposit to guarantee the old spare part is returned for remanufacturing.
Once the manufacturer receives the old spare part, the core charge will be returned to the customer. The amount of the core charge is determined by the supplier of the spare part. Therefore, the same part provided by different suppliers can have different core charges or may have no core charge at all.
The mark is only valid for goods that are offered in the following categories: alternators, brake calipers, car batteries, semi-axles, injectors, high pressure fuel pumps, compressors, starters, and others.
Purchase of new part and payment of core charge. Receipt of part.
Preparation of the used car part for shipment.
(If a component has any residual working fluid, the customer should drain it. This requirement does not, however, apply to car batteries. The used car part should be returned in its original packaging, however if this is no longer available, then use the packaging of a newly purchased spare part to wrap the old one). The invoice issued to the customer when purchasing the new spare part has to be enclosed in a parcel.

If the result of the inspection is negative, the core charge will not be returned to the customer. We can send back the used part within 2 months if the customer requests this, and the shipping costs will be borne by Buycarparts.co.uk. After 2 months of storage, the spare part will be scrapped.
- The customer bears the shipping costs for the delivery of the used part. The customer needs to pay for the delivery even if the Safe Order option was selected when the order was placed.
- The core charge will not be refunded if the customer does not return the used part within 12 months from the date of purchase of the new part. In this case, the manufacturer retains the core charge as compensation.
- If cracks, deformation, or other severe damage is found on the part, the core charge will not be refunded.
- If the customer returns a spare part that belongs to a different category of car components, the core charge will not be refunded.
