The Rover 600 saloon was manufactured from 1993 until 1999 in Great Britain. In 2005, the British automotive services company RAC Limited called this car a perfect combination of intrinsic British luxury and reliable Japanese technologies. In the mid-1990s, the Honest John British magazine named this vehicle the most reliable product of the brand.
The background of Rover 600
The model is represented by one generation and two facelifts. It was based on the Honda Accord. Its dimensions were the following: the length was 4,645, the width was 1,715, the height was 1,380 mm. The luggage compartment capacity was 430 l.
The vehicle got narrow headlights, chrome radiator grille with vertical bars. There were sculptured lines radiating from it throughout the bonnet. Two exhaust pipes should be also noted as a feature of the exterior.
Both axles were fitted with brake discs. The front ones were ventilated. The cars were equipped with power steering and power front windows. Higher trim levels provided for a sunroof. The SLi configuration included doors trimmed with wood and the GSi version offered leather upholstery. Starting from 1994, all cars were fitted with driver’s airbag.
The features of Rover 600 (I generation, facelifts)
The saloon was renewed in 1996. Among new interior features were a soft armrest between the front seats, doors with built-in cupholders and separate headrests of the rear seats. Almost all the cars were equipped with a car remote alarm. Higher trim levels of saloons had an air conditioning system. In 1997, the manufacturer slightly changed the exterior. In particular, the housings of the side mirrors, door handles and door sills started to be painted in the body colour.
