ROVER 400 parts: find out more!
The Rover 400 vehicles were produced from 1990 to 1999. They were assembled in Birmingham, the UK.
The history of Rover 400
This model was the successor to the legendary model 200 and was created in collaboration with Honda Motor Company. During the production years, two generations and one facelift were released. The first generation, the R8, had two body styles: estate car and saloon. The estate car was characterised by the following parameters: the luggage compartment capacity was 1,410 l, the length was 4365 mm, the width was 1680, the height was 1390 mm. The luggage compartment of the saloon had space for up to 410 l of cargo. The length, width, and height were 4370, 1680, and 1400 mm, respectively.
Cars had narrow headlights, trapezoidal radiator grille with chrome frame and stylish mouldings. The saloon had an optional rear spoiler. Strict straight lines were predominate in headlight shape. The estate car was equipped with a rear wiper. The next generation, the HH-R, appeared in 1995 and four years later it was replaced by model 45.
The features of Rover 400 (HH-R)
The HH-R cars (Theta) were based on Honda Domani. They entered the production in 1995 with the five-door hatchback body-style. Later the saloon was released. Compared to the predecessor, its length and width increased and were 4491 and 1695 mm respectively. The height decreased slightly: the new version was 1385 high. It was possible to transport up to 810 l of cargo in the luggage compartment.
As before, the exterior design was laconic. The cars had an almost oval radiator grille, the front lights were round. The shape of compact taillights resembled triangles. The interior was fitted with decorative elements made of natural wood. Leather upholstery, air conditioning, ultrasonic security system were offered as optional extras.
