History of Daewoo Lacetti

The model was presented by 2 generations with a restyling within the first one. The first generation had J200 index and was produced in 2002-2009 period. The sedan was presented at the Seoul Motor Show in 2002, 5-door hatchback – in 2003 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main, and premiere of 5-door station wagon took place in spring 2004. The famous Italian studio of car design, Pininfarina, worked on creation of the sedan and station wagon, and the look of Daewoo Lacetti hatchback was designed by Italdesign-Giugiaro company.

The first generation of cars was sold in Europe, America, some Asian countries and Oceania. According to the country of distribution and configuration the car could be equipped with air-conditioner, cruise control, sunroof, leather trimming of the steering wheel and gearbox lever, audio-system with 8 speakers. Also, light-alloy wheel rims could be available, as well as fog lights and other options.

The second generation of the model with J300 index was presented by Lacetti Premier sedan. It was produced only in South Korea from 2009 to 2011. A new platform GM Delta II was the basis of the car. The car participated in FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2005-2012, and also in British Touring Car Championship in 2008-2011.
