Daewoo Tico compact cars were produced since 1991 till 2001. The model was assembled in South Korea, Poland, Uzbekistan and Romania. The car was known as Suzuki Fronte.

History of Daewoo Tico

The model, presented by one generation, was built on the basis of Suzuki Alto of 1988 and was produced in one body version – 5-door hatchback. Initially, Daewoo Tico hatchback was equipped with 48 hp carburettor petrol engine but over time more powerful injection power units were used. As the result, the car was brought in compliance with Euro-2 eco-standard. In many countries the hatchback was popular due to efficient fuel consumption – averagely it consumed 5.15 liters per 100 kilometers distance.

In 1991 the car covered 20 000 km distance through the main European cities and Siberia spending 50 days on the trip. Starting point was Greenwich astronomical observatory in Great Britain, and destination point – Beijing, the capital of China.

Features of Daewoo Tico cars

Car exterior differed by sharp lines and angles. At different times Daewoo Tico was offered both with black and painted in body colour bumpers. Moreover, width and colouring of side moldings changed.

Car interior was rather simple but looked bright due to the cabin upholstered with bright-coloured fabric and blue highlighting of the dashboard. The front seats of Tico hatchback had high headrests. Interesting interior feature was the wide open shelf which passed almost through the whole front panel.

The car could be equipped with the rear fog light, have function of rear window heating and rear wiper. Moreover, the audio system and air-conditioner were presupposed.
