The company’s history started in 1886. Initially its work was aimed at improving ignition technologies: in 1897 it became the world’s only magneto ignition systems supplier, and in 1902 Bosch spark plugs were presented. Types
According to the construction material of the center electrode:
- Copper-nickel. The center electrode has the copper core placed in corrosion- and wear-resistant nickel case. The main advantages of such spark plugs are their low price and optimal operation characteristics.
- Yttric. Yttrium-enhanced center electrode provides excellent performance and extended service life. They are widely used in auto racing. They are presented by Bosch Super Plus series.
- Silver. They are presented by the Silver and Super 4 series. The center electrode of hard silver makes these spark plugs reliable and highly resistant to heat and aggressive chemicals. Super 4 have 4 ground electrodes, which increases their service life, and the center silver-coated electrode, which promotes better heat transfer.
- Platinum and iridic. In Platinum Plus electrodes are made of pure platinum, in Double Platinum the platinum electrode tip is welded to base, in Platinum Iridium the electrodes are made of the alloy of these metals. Such spark plugs are durable, corrosion- and heat-resistant and have perfect performance throughout their whole lifespan. That is why there are more and more car owners who intend to buy Bosch spark plugs with electrodes made of noble metals.

- They are equipped with interference resistor. This provides continuous operation of car electronics.
- The steel body and threaded connection are nickel-coated. It prevents the jamming of the part in the cylinder unit head, protects it from corrosion.
