SEAT AROSA reviews and experiences
The three-door hatchbacks SEAT Arosa were produced from 1997 to 2004. Until 1998, the assembly was carried out at the Volkswagen plant in Germany, after that – at the company's own site in Spain. During the time, over 175,000 units were produced. In 1997, the model won the Golden Steering Wheel award established by the German magazine Bild am Sonntag. The twin model is Volkswagen Lupo based on the same platform.
The history of SEAT Arosa
There is one generation, the 6H, and one facelift. The model debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, it had four seats and a compact size. The length was 3550 mm, the height was 1460 mm, the width was 1640 mm. The luggage compartment capacity was 130 l, and up to 790 l with the rear seats folded. The curb weight of the car was less than one ton.
Minimalism prevailed in the exterior. The bumpers were massive, painted black, and the front one had a wide air intake at the bottom. Two sculptured lines spread across the bonnet. The grille was compact and trapezoidal.
The range of equipment wasn’t very wide: the base trim level included two front airbags, rear window wiper, ABS, hydraulic power steering, central locking. Higher trim levels offered a sunroof.
The features of the SEAT Arosa (the 6H, facelift)
In 2000, the updated car was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. The changes mainly affected the appearance. Bumpers, with the exception of a small section at the bottom, were now painted body colour. The grille was divided into three segments, and the shape of the headlights changed. Fog lamps were offered as an optional extra.
