History of Mazda Premacy

The model has three generations and three restyled versions. The first generation, CP, was produced from 1999 to 2004 in body style of a minivan and had seven passenger seats. Cabin configuration could be easily changed by folding or demounting the second and the third seat rows. Modifications with front-wheel or all-wheel drive were offered. Main advantages of the car were good handling and affordable price.

The CR generation was produced from 2005 to 2010 using Ford C1 platform. The manufacturer stated using the sliding rear doors. The model was a 7-seater on most markets, while 6-seat cars were offered in the USA. Premacy minivan was restyled in 2008, as a result its radiator and bumper grilles became bigger. Rear lights were now equipped with LEDs and additional air vents appeared in the cabin. Extended configuration offered multimedia system with six loudspeakers, DVD-player and voice control function. Cars with front and rear armrests were available for the North American market.

Production of Hydrogen RE Hybrid, which was able to operate both on petrol and hydrogen, started in 2009. The car has Wankel rotary engine and a 5-seat cabin. A 110 litre hydrogen reservoir is installed instead of the third seat row.

The third generation, CW, is produced since 2010. Mazda Premacy cars got more aggressive look due to the massive radiator grille and increased triangular frames of the fog lights. Headlights became narrower and longer. The car body was now decorated with wave-shaped elements on the sides. The model became more eco-friendly: due to usage of the I-Stop system the manufacturer managed to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere by 15%.

Restyling of the third generation was performed in 2013. Minivan is designed in “Nagare” brand style with relief decorative lines flowing smoothly from the front car part onto the whole body, giving it a streamlined appearance. Elongated rear lights partially situated on fenders add up to this image.

Standard equipment of Mazda Premacy includes electric sliding doors which have protection against random closing. Moreover, they can be opened remotely. Also, the car has rain and light sensors, audio system with eight loudspeakers as standard. Extended configurations have air freshener and navigation system. As for safety, all cars are equipped with dynamic stability control system, traction control system, hill start system, ABS with brake force distribution.
