Mazda 5 is a minivan which was produced since 2005 till 2015 in Japan, China and Taiwan. In Japan an analogue car called Premacy is still sold. Moreover, Nissan Lafesta is the twin-model of the car. History of Mazda 5

In total, two generations and one restyled version of the model were presented. Debut of the first generation, CR, took place on Paris Motor Show in 2004. Minivan length was 4505 mm, width - 1755 mm, and height - 1615 mm. The manufacturer offered 5- and 7-seat cars.

In 2005 Mazda 5 car got the highest mark in Euro NCAP crash-tests, and in 2006 it won maximum six stars in Japanese program of new cars assessment JNCAP. The minivan was the first vehicle which data were entered into Digital Service Record.

In 2008 a restyled model was released. Car’s width decreased by 10 mm, length and height remained the same. Car exterior became more expressive. Its radiator grille became almost triangular, and fog light frames - trapezoid. The rear lights got simpler in design and smaller, while reflectors, on the contrary, became bigger. For the renewed model electric sliding rear doors were offered optionally. Also, a multimedia system with DVD-player and a touch screen integrated into central console, was offered.

In 2010 the second generation of the model, CW, was presented. The body with curved lines on the sides, large bumper grille and increased almond-shaped fog light frames formed really dynamic silhouette of Mazda 5 minivan. Rear lights with dark red lenses were horizontal and the reflectors were decreased in sizes and were now located in niches.

Car interior was notable for austerity and wide possibilities of cabin transformation. The seats, which were designed using the Karakuri technology, could be folded and moved easily. Due to this luggage compartment capacity could be increased from 426 to 780 litres if necessary.

The minivan steering wheel was trimmed with leather and could be adjusted by height and tilt. The climate control and front seat heating provided comfort in the cabin. Also, cars of the 5 model were equipped with on-board computer and acoustic system with radio and MP3-player which was controlled by buttons on the steering wheel.

These cars were equipped with numerous safety systems. ABS with brake force distribution, dynamic stability control, anti-skid regulation were among them. This model was optionally equipped with cruise control and parking sensors.
