The Jaguar company was founded in 1922. Originally it was called Swallow Sidecar Company and specialized in the production of motorcycles with a sidecar. Increased overtime revenues allowed the company to expand its production and a few years later the first Jaguar brand car was presented.
In 1948, the unit began producing sports cars, and in 1951 – racing cars. However, the company was focused on releasing comfortable cars in the saloon body style. After nine years Jaguar Cars division was fully controlled by the Indian concern Tata Motors Ltd.
