The history of SsangYong Kyron
The model has one generation and one facelift. Cars of the first generation were sizable: 4660 mm long, 1880 mm wide, 1740 mm high. The luggage compartment capacity was 625 litres and with the folded rear seats – 2,322 litres. Both axles were fitted with brake discs.
Sculpted decorative lines on the bonnet and body sides made the SUV look stylish. Long headlights became narrower to the radiator grille which was divided into two fine-meshed triangular segments. The car had a roof-rack and pentagonal rear light clusters.
The features of SsangYong Kyron (I generation, facelift)
The debut of the updated car took place at Seoul Motor Show in 2007. Its dimensions, the length and width, remained almost the same but its height was increased to 1,755 mm. The new vehicle got a trapezoidal radiator grille with a chrome rim and vertical bar in the middle. The central sculptured line disappeared from the bonnet. The bumper grille had no body-coloured bars any more. The rear light clusters resembled wings and fog lamps became available as standard. Depending on the trim level, seats had either fabric or leather upholstery. Besides, the interior could have chrome decorative elements.
The standard equipment of the SUVs included part-time all-wheel drive, ABS, two front airbags, power side-view mirrors, height adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, sound system with six speakers. Air conditioning system and heated front seats created a comfortable climate inside the vehicle.
Higher trim levels had climate control, heated rear seats as well as electronic stability system, electronic brakeforce distribution, active rollover protection. It was also possible to order parking sensors, cruise control, sunroof.
