The SsangYong Actyon model has been produced since 2005 until present. At various times, these cars were assembled in South Korea, Russia and Ukraine. In Australia, these vehicles were sold under the name Tradie and in Ecuador – Korando.
The history of SsangYong Actyon
The model has two generations and one facelift. Initially, customers were offered a crossover which was unveiled in Europe at the Paris Motor Show in 2006. The product line included as well a four-door pickup truck Sports. The appearance of the car was aggressive, in particular, because of many sculptured lines on the car body, huge bumpers, wide wheel arches. The radiator grille was U-shaped, narrow headlights were nearly triangular except for the rounded lower part. As standard, the vehicles were equipped with power windows and power wing mirrors, central locking, hydraulic power steering, fog lamps. A Roof-rack and sunroof were offered as an optional extra.
The second generation appeared in 2010. The radiator grille of the car became hexagonal and headlights – wider. A large air intake appeared in the front bumper. Standard equipment included front airbags, onboard computer, cruise control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution. The steering column was tilt adjustable.
The features of SsangYong Actyon (II generation)
The production of facelifted cars started in 2013. As before, pickup trucks and crossovers were available. As for the exterior, the headlights and radiator grille became wider. Besides, fog lamps were no longer four-cornered but round. Daytime running lights have appeared.
The car was fitted with an active all-wheel drive as well as numerous safety systems, for example, electronic stability programme, active rollover protection, traction control, emergency braking assist and hill start assist. Apart from that, cars are equipped with six airbags including the curtain airbags, active headrests on the front seats and Isofix attachments.
Higher trim levels have an infotainment system with a sat nav and 7-inch display, climate control, electronic tyre pressure monitoring system.
