Mercedes-Benz Viano vehicles were produced from 2003 to 2014. Assembling of these minivans was performed in Spain. In 2011 this model took the third place amongst the best car industry novelties on “Van of the Year” awards. The twin of this model is Mercedes-Benz Valente.
History of Mercedes-Benz Viano cars
The car is presented by a single generation, W639 and a restyled version. In fact, it is the second generation of Mercedes-Benz Vito, which got a new name. A new minivan, V-Class, came to replace Viano in 2014.
The cars had six seats. However, optionally, seats quantity can be increased to eight, by installing additional seats into the cabin. They were easily adjusted in accordance with passengers’ needs, for instance, by backrest inclination level. Moreover, the seats could be turned to one another or removed at all, providing more space for cargo. In this case volume of the luggage compartment was expanded to 4650 liters.
Specially for keen travelers Marco Polo modification was created. It was equipped with kitchen equipment, including gas oven and freezer. Roof of this car was retracted vertically, which allowed to comfortably stand in the car full-height. In addition, sleeping accommodations for four persons could be settled in this vehicle.
In 2010 Mercedes-Benz Viano underwent restyling. As a result, vehicle length was increased by 15 mm and was 4763 mm, width remained the same – 1901 mm, and height was reduced by 3 mm. It is worth noting that loading capacity of renewed cars was significantly increased from 575 to 720 kg.a

Exterior of the restyled car became more modern. Optical elements with sharp lines came to replace the almond-shaped ones. New car radiator grille consists of three small-cell sections. As for interior novelties, more ergonomic multi-functional steering wheel is worth noting. Its buttons are now located on the central part, not on the spokes.
