Mercedes-Benz E-Class is executive class cars, produced since 1993 till present. At different time car assembling was performed in Germany, South Africa, Poland, India, Mexico, Austria, Egypt, China, Thailand, Indonesia and other countries. History of Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars
During the whole existence of the model the manufacturer presented five generations and three restyled versions of the car. Sedan Ponton 180 W120 with 4-cylinder engine, produced in 1953 is considered the prototype of these cars.
The first model cars, generation W124, were presented in versions of sedan, station wagon, coupe and cabriolet. There was also 6-door E-Class limousine; today this car is one of the most-demanded object for car collectors of the world. W123 cars gained reputation of reliable vehicles, which is proven by breakdowns statistics, gathered by famous German auto club ADAC. Most of these cars are still very popular on the modern market of used cars.
In 1995 the manufacturer presented W210 generation. The rain sensor, automatic climate-control and parktronic were available for the first time in model history. Also, those company cars were the first to meet double oval headlights. Design of W210 generation was marked with prestigious “Red Dot Design Award”.
Production of the third generation, W211, started in 2002. Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan was presented in “Men in Black” movie before sales start. The car was produced in version of station wagon also. This generation set new standards of safety and comfort. Particularly, now all the model cars were equipped with electro-hydraulic brake system (Sensotronic Brake Control) and pneumatic suspension (Airmatic Dual Control).
The fourth generation model, W212, got maximum five stars in Euro NCAP crash-test. These cars were equipped with the collision warning system (Collision Prevention Assist), driver’s fatigue level monitoring (Attention Assist) and adaptive brake system in basic configuration. The model was twice awarded “Euro NCAP Advanced” for Pre-Safe and Pre-Safe Brake safety systems.
Features of Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 cars
The fifth generation of the model, W123, was presented at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2016, The cars are produced in versions of sedan, coupe, cabriolet and station wagon. It is worth noting, that 1200 prototypes of the car were built before start of production. During testing, these cars underwent more than 12 million kilometers in full range of conditions, including sand and snowbanks.
W213 E-Class car is notable for its elegant design. It has streamlined silhouette and LED headlights with blue accents. Interior of the car represents luxury and functionality. Combination of genuine high-quality leather, metal and wood in interior upholstery, and presence of Burmester sound system and background lighting promotes creation of a special atmosphere inside of the car.
