JEEP COMMANDER parts: find out more!
The seven-seater SUV Jeep Commander was manufactured between 2006 and 2010. The assembly of the cars was carried out in the USA and Austria. It was the first car in the history of the company to be fitted with three rows of seats.
The history of the Jeep Commander vehicles
The manufacturer presented one generation of the model, called the XK. The car was 4,787 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,826 mm high. The vehicle could have either a rear- or a four-wheel drive. The Commander had a stepped roof, which allowed to install seats of the second and third rows higher than the front seats.
In 2006, the manufacturer produced a special version of the model, dedicated to the 65th Anniversary of the company. These cars were trimmed with special badges on front doors and seats, and had 17-inch alloy wheels of a dark colour, and floor mats with unique embroidery.
Features of the Jeep Commander XK vehicles
The debut of the model took place at the New York International Auto Show in 2005. The Commander SUV looked respectable due to the body of an angular shape, sculpted wheel arches, and massive radiator grille trimmed with a plate with vertical slots. Side mirrors of the car were heated and electrically adjustable. The list of standard equipment of the vehicle included remote central locking and power windows. The base trim featured a sound system which supported CD and six speakers.
The list of additional options included two-zone automatic climate control, heating function for all seats, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror. Moreover, the cars could feature a Boston sound system and smartphone integration system. The manufacturer also offered to fit the car with three sunroofs, a DVD player, nine-inch TV set, and a rear-view camera.
The Jeep Commander vehicles were equipped with a large number of safety systems. Among them were: ABS, electronic stability programme (ESP), tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPM/RDC), brake assist (BAS), enhanced accident response system (EARS). Besides, the cars were equipped with an energy absorbing system in case of collisions, called Crash Boxes. The seats were fitted with height-adjustable belts with pretensioners. The cars also featured ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
