Chevrolet Nubira model was produced from 2004 to 2010. It replaced Daewoo Nubira and was sold under the name Lacetti in many European countries and as Optra in Canada, Africa and South-East Asia. In certain countries the car was available under other brands. Thus, in China it was sold as Buick Excelle, in South Korea – Daewoo Lacetti-5, in Australia and New Zealand – Holden Viva, in the USA – Suzuki Forenza.
History of Chevrolet Nubira cars
The manufacturer presented one generation of the model. The car was offered in body version of a saloon with 4500 mm length, 1725 mm width and 1445 mm height. Two years later, Nubira estate car was presented at Geneva Motor Show. Its length was 4580 mm, width – 1725 mm, height – 1460 mm.
The cars were equipped with petrol engine of 122 hp and displacement from 1.6 to 1.8 liters, and also with 2-liter diesel engines of 121 hp. The petrol engines conformed with Euro-4 standard. The manufacturer offered sport package of the model as well, which were designed according to Super 2000 specifications. These cars participated in many races, having 14 victories.
Features of I generation Chevrolet Nubira
Car exterior was designed by the Italian company “Pininfarina”. Chevrolet Nubira cars had drop-shaped headlights and the neat radiator grille with a chromed frame and horizontal decorative bar in the centre. Small fog lights were mounted on the sides of narrow bumper grille. The car sides were decorated with elegant mouldings, painted in body colour.
Interior of the cars was practical, at the same time providing admirable level of comfort. Convenient seats with textile trimming were mounted in the cabin; buttons for audio-system control were situated on the steering wheel. Needed temperature in the cabin was provided by the climate-control system.
Nubira equipped with LPG system were also produced. They were equipped with gas tanks with volume up to 53 liters, which were mounted in the niche for a spare wheel, providing additional 450 kilometers of travel.
