Ford Fiesta cars are produced since 1976 till present. History of Ford Fiesta cars
The first generation model was produced in 1976. In June of the same year the car participated in the famous “24 Heures du Mans” race, where a car’s endurance is judged by how far it is able to travel in 24 hours and how often it requires replacement of expendables (tyres, brake pads,etc.). The company started to install CVH engines into the second generation cars. And the fourth generation cars became top-selling cars in Great Britain in 1996–1998.
The fifth generation of Ford Fiesta van, sedan and hatchback took one of the most famous German awards – “Das Goldene Lenkrad” (The Golden Steering Wheel) from “Bild am Sonntag” magazine. Totally, the company produced seven generations and four restyled versions of the model. A video clip featuring a well-known British actress Keeley Hawes was filmed as an advertisement of the seventh generation model.
Features of seventh generation Ford Fiesta
The Fiesta hatchback was presented in November, 2016, during a “Go More” special event in Cologne, Germany. The model is produced in two body styles: 3- and 5-door hatchback. In comparison with the 6th generation restyled hatchback, which was produced until 2017, the new one became longer by 71 mm and wider by 12 mm. At the same time the car got 12 mm lower, which made its silhouette more streamline.
The new Fiesta is equipped with various systems, which make driving more pleasant and safe. For instance, depending on trim level, the following options are available: automatic air temperature control, SYNC 3 infotainment system and MyKey option. The latter helps to reduce risks for inexperienced drivers. Particularly, it allows to program maximum audio-system volume and driving speed, reminds of low fuel level, impels to use seat belts. Also, rear view camera and ambient lighting are available in some configurations. A touch display is mounted on the front panel; its size can be up to 8 inches.
