History of Lexus CT

The car is represented by 1 generation and 2 restyled versions. When designing CT, the manufacturer, first of all, focused on tastes and needs of the European customers.

The car that appeared in 2010 got stylish headlights widening near fenders. The chromed trimming element was located above the compact trapezoid radiator grille. Sculptured lines radiated from it over the bonnet. The round fog lights in frames of a sophisticated shape were located on sides of the narrow bumper grille. Turn indicator repeaters were built into the outer mirrors. Refined lines of stop signals built into rear lights added elegance to the car body.

5-door CT hatchback was standardly equipped with 8 airbags. Also, the stability control system (VSC) and pre-collision safety system (PCS) were used. The adaptive cruise control was added for automatic maintaining necessary speed. For pedestrians protection, there was used the system which warned them about car approaching .

The model was restyled in 2013 for the first time. The car got a new original radiator grille made in the form of a sand-glass. At the rear, the restyled car could be distinguished from the predecessor by L-shaped frames of reflectors and black-colour diffuser. Even in basic trim level the cars had leather trimmed steering wheel. The steering wheel had control buttons for audio system, phone, and voice control. The side mirrors were electrically adjustable.

Features of II restyling of I generation Lexus CT cars

Debut of the second restyling took place on International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main in 2017. In the upper part of new headlights, now there are located boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The reflectors on the rear bumper are emphasized with stylish curved elements. And a distinctive feature of rear lights were large LED L-shaped stop signals.

The headlights of Lexus CT cars are equipped with function of automatic switching on/off. In top trim level, outer mirrors feature functions of heating, auto-dimming and adjustment memory. Car basic trim level can be added with the Lexus navigation system containing the detailed map of Europe. This option is standard for extended trim levels.

The cars are equipped with many safety systems, including the emergency brake assist (BAS), anti slip regulation (TRC), electronic brake force distribution system (EBD), stability control system (VSC). The multimedia system with 6 speakers, 7-inch screen and ergonomic control panel is responsible for entertainment during the trip.
