What are electronic engine and transmission mounts?

Electronic engine and transmission mounts are a kind of hydraulic mount and are used mainly on expensive cars. They consist of two chambers separated by a membrane, and have an additional solenoid valve that regulates the flow of the fluid depending on driving conditions. The engine control unit is responsible for opening and closing the valve. At low speeds, the fluid flows freely from one chamber to another, and the component is soft. At higher speeds or when driving on poor-quality roads, the valve closes, and the stiffness of the part increases. Mounts of this kind are the most expensive, but are also the most efficient at absorbing vibrations in all engine operating modes.
