Opel Combo commercial car is produced since 1986 till present. Car assembling is performed on the company’s factories in Portugal, Spain, Great Britain and Turkey. The twins of this car are Fiat Doblo and same-named models of such brands as Holden, Vauxhall and Chevrolet.

History of Opel Combo cars

The model is presented by four generations: A, B, C, D and one restyled version. Generally, the first generation was Kadett and Corsa models in version of a van. Rear suspension of A generation cars was equipped with leaf-springs, thanks to which cars had loading capacity up to 500 kg. The model had symmetrical swing doors of the luggage compartment.

In B generation, apart from standard Opel Combo van, its 5-door modification was offered – Tour. It differed by presence of three folding seats and side windows in the cargo compartment, and the rear door opening upwards.

The line of C generation bodies was added by minivan with side sliding doors. Also a pickup was produced for the Brazil market. Tour Tramp modification (Tour Arizona on the markets of some countries) was presented within this generation. It got improved suspension, increased road clearance and additional molding on the body.

Features of Opel Combo D cars

D generation is a collaborative development of Opel and Fiat and produced since 2011 till present in versions of van and minivan. Apart from standard cars with 1845 mm height, 1831 mm width and 4390 mm length, modifications with prolonged body appeared. At the same width, their height is 2115 mm and length – 4740 mm.

According to modification, luggage compartment volume of Opel Combo van varies from 3.8 m³ to 4.6 m³. In comparison with the first generation, loading capacity of the last generation car increased by one third and is 750 kg.

7-seat minivan came into the market. And the line of available engines was added by power unit operating on natural gas.

Exterior of the cars combines modesty and utility. Thus, peculiarity of van rear lights location promotes their safekeeping during loading works. The cars are notable for low bonnet line, which, in combination with the enlarged windshield and big side mirrors, provides excellent observability.

Basically, the cars are equipped with ESP, hill start assist, tyres air pressure control system. Original independent BiLink suspension provides good handling and increased width between rear axle wheel arches. Unusual solution was optionally available hatch for transportation of long cargo.

Modifications of Combo van with side windows and PVC coating in the luggage compartment  were presented. Moreover, there are cars with two slide doors on sales.
