Citroen C4 came to replace Xsara at the end of 2004. The car is still produced at present, at company factories in France and Argentina. In 2006 the car was awarded “World Car of the Year”. History of Citroen C4 cars

Model interior and exterior were created by group of designers under the direction of Jean-Pierre Ploué. The car was produced in two generations, in both of which it underwent restyling. The first generation was manufactured in versions of 3- and 5-door hatchbacks since 2004. And in 2008 restyled cars rolled off the production line. The front bumper of the renewed cars got enlarged grille, and the rear lights got transparent lenses.

The second generation, 5-door hatchback and sedan, was released in 2011. Car body lines were changed, particularly, the front part became more aggressive. Car dimensions increased: length - by 57 mm, width - by 21 mm, height - by 40 mm. Restyling of the second generation took place in 2016. Bumpers appearance was changed: the front one got new fog lights frames, the rear one – red reflectors. The radiator grille became wider and positioned closely adjacent to the optics; the rear lights changed their mounting position.

A modified 320 hp hatchback Citroen C4 WRC with 2.0L engine was created for racing. On this car a racer Sebastien Loeb finished the first in World Rally championships four times in a row from 2007 to 2010.

The model was the first Citroen equipped with an air freshener. The manufacturers assured that scents affect readiness and mood of a driver, and mounted the reservoir with freshener near the central air outlet. As standard, 9 aromas were available to choose from.

Renewed Citroen C4 cars of the second generation are produced since 2016 in sedan version. Sharp, refined lines create an uncluttered silhouette of the car, and style of the brand logo is reflected in the shape of the headlights, curves of the radiator grille and bumpers.

And adaptive fog lights with lighting angle of up to 75° allow to monitor road situation even at poor visibility. Moreover, the car can be equipped with the driver attention alert system. It turns on driver’s seat vibration, if the car leaves the lane without giving a turn signal. In Shine and Shine Ultimate configurations, the car is equipped with multimedia navigation system with 7-inch touchscreen.
