1. The history of the brand is closely connected to Ralf Schmid, who founded a wheel manufacturing company in Germany in 1996 and named it ALUTEC Leichtmetallfelgen. Two years later it bought another German wheel rim manufacturer – RIAL Leichtmetallfelgen.
2. The UNIWHEELS Group was created by the merging of these two companies in 2005. In 2008 it acquired the assets of the ATS Group. In 1970 specialists of this company were the first in the world to use low-pressure casting technology for wheel rim production. 7.8 million wheel rims were produced by the UNIWHEELS group in 2015.
3. In 2017, the American wheel rim manufacturer Superior Industries, founded by Louis L. Borick in 1957, purchased a majority share of the UNIWHEELS Group.
4. Today, Superior Industries International, Inc. has nine factories and over 8,000 employees.
