Production of Subaru Impreza cars started in 1992 and still continues. Cars assembling is performed in Japan, Malaysia and the USA. History of Subaru Impreza cars

The manufacturer presented five generations and four restyled versions of the model. Initially, cars were produced in versions of sedan (GC) and 5-door station wagon (GF). From 1995 till 2000, assembling of Impreza coupe, which got GM name, was also performed. The cars were equipped with Boxer engines. Modifications with all- and front-wheel drive were offered.

In 2000, production of New Age generation started, in body versions of sedan (GD) and station wagon (GG). The cars got stiffer durable suspension and stylish round headlights. In the third generation, production of which was performed since 2007, the station wagon was replaced with 5-door hatchback – GR. All Impreza cars were equipped with stability control system as standard.

The fourth generation of the model was presented on New York International Auto Show in 2011 in body versions of 5-door hatchback (GP) and sedan (GJ). Since 2013, the cars were equipped with EyeSight safety system which monitors the road situation with the help of two cameras and warns about possible collision. It is worth noting that these cars were used by the police in many countries: Australia, the USA, Japan, France and others.

Premiere of the mass production car took place on New York International Auto Show in 2016. The model for the European market was presented in autumn of 2017 on International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main. The car is produced in versions of sedan (GK) and 5-door hatchback (GT).

Car design is created in accordance with “Dynamic & Solid” concept, and underlines its reliability and sportiveness. The car lost the contrast-coloured bar on the hexagonal radiator grille and got extended headlights with built-in LEDs and a light sensor.
