Nissan Almera cars were produced for the European market from 1995 to 2006. The model was presented by sedans and three- and five-door hatchbacks. Cars were assembled in Japan, the RSA, Great Britain. These cars were sold on the Japanese market as Nissan Pulsar and Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. In Columbia, Mexico, Libya and Egypt the model was called Renault Scala, and in Chile – Samsung SM3. The car was sold under the name Nissan Latio in countries of South-Eastern Asia.
History of Nissan Almera cars
In Western Europe the car was presented by 2 generations and 2 restyled models. The first generation, N15, released in 1995, was equipped with the driver and passenger airbags, hydraulic power steering, immobilizer as standard. Extended trim levels included electric power windows, ABS, fog lights, air-conditioner. It is worth noting that sedans were extremely popular in Ireland, while the great majority of customers in Great Britain preferred Almera hatchbacks.
The second generation of the model, N16, was manufactured since 2000. The novelty looked more elegant than its predecessor. Particularly, it was due to radiator grille shaped as 2 symmetrical quadrangles and narrowed headlights. In 2003 the restyled version of the generation was released. And in 2006 this model was discontinued. It was replaced with Tiida car on the European market.
A renewed Nissan Almera sedan with N17T index was launched in 2011 as a part of Eco-Car project in Thailand. It entered the market only of some countries, particularly, Japan, China, India. The G11, created especially for the Russian market, was presented at the Moscow International Automobile Salon in 2012.
