Types of pressure washers
By purpose:
- Household. Affordable, compact, and light. Not designed for intensive use.
- Professional. High-performance. These models usually come with additional attachments, which significantly expands their functionality.
- Mini washers. They help to remove dirt quickly and easily. Thanks to their compact design, they do not take up much space. They are cheap, but the least effective.
By water intake system:
- Self-suction type. These devices require no connection to the water supply system as they can draw water from any container. This type is expensive.
- Requiring a pressurised water source. These need to be connected to the water supply and are less mobile.
By availability of the heating function:
- With heating. These are made from heat-resistant materials and deliver the highest possible cleaning quality.
- Without heating. They allow filling with water heated to a maximum of +40°C.
By power supply type:
- Mains powered. This type should be connected to a household mains socket.
- Battery powered. These have a battery and a charger.
- Cigarette lighter powered. These devices require a 12V DC power supply to work.
In addition, pressure washers vary in material, power consumption, water pressure, availability of overheating protection and the function of automatic shutdown when the water pressure in the device exceeds the limit.
Tips for using pressure washers
- During the cold months, try to wash your car with warm water only. This will help prevent deterioration of the paintwork.
- To remove stubborn stains, use the steam function.
- While washing a car, hold the nozzle at a distance from the car body as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not direct the jet to damaged areas of the car body.
