The production of the Renault Grand Scenic started in 2004 and is still going on. The vehicles are made in Douai, in the north of France. In 2009, thanks to the high level of safety, the car received all five stars according to the results of the Euro-NCAP crash tests.
The History of the Renault Grand Scenic vehicles
There are three generations and three uplifted versions of this vehicle. At first, the model was a seven-seat version of Renault Scenic. The appearance and technical characteristics of these cars were similar. The length of the MPV of the first generation was 4496 mm, its width was 1810 mm and its height was 1636 mm. The capacity of the luggage compartment was 513 l, however, it could be increased up to 1920 l due to the folding rear seats.
The base trim of the vehicle included a rain sensor and electric windows. Moreover, some versions were fitted with an electric park brake with an automatic switching system and the Renault Card immobiliser offered as standard equipment.
In 2009, the second generation of the model was presented. The car was fitted with the electronic stability control, front and side airbags, seat belts with tensioners with the Isofix anchor points. The manufacturer offered a five-seat Grand Scenic in the second generation.
After the update of 2013, fog lights were installed into the renewed bumper grille decorated with a chrome frame. The cars gained roof bars and the radiator grille received a chrome frame.
The History of the Renault Grand Scenic vehicles (III generation)
The third generation of the vehicle debuted in 2016 at the Paris Auto Show. The new Grand Scenic MPV has larger dimensions than its predecessor. It is 4634 mm long, 1866 mm wide and 1655 mm high.
The vehicle looks sporty and modern due to the 20-inch wheels, shaped radiator grille with a large brand badge and large chrome frames of the fog lights. The headlights became smaller and gained a strict shape, almost rectangular. Extended packages feature stylish aluminium roof bars.
The interior is a harmonious combination of comfort and elegance. The driver’s seat is height adjustable. The eight-position electric adjustment and massage function are optionally available. Both rows of rear seats with headrests and side bolsters can be easily folded if necessary. The Renault Grand Scenic vehicles are equipped with the retractable Easy Life console with compartments with the total capacity of 13 l.
The standard equipment of the model also includes emergency brake assist with the pedestrian detection function. It is possible to fit your vehicle with the lane keeping system and driver fatigue monitor system.
Some extended trims of the car feature the R-LINK 2 multimedia system with an 8.7-inch diagonal screen. The Bose sound system with eleven speakers is available as an optional extra.
