The steps depend on the year of production and version of your car and are described by its manufacturer in the technical documentation. This procedure isn’t difficult and you can carry it out on your own:
- Warm up the engine and then park your car above the inspection pit or lift it.
- Place the container below the drain hole in the oil pan.
- Carefully undo the plug with a 13-mm spanner and drain the lubricant.
- Remove the oil filter with a special tool.
- Clean its mounting seat of debris.
- Apply some new oil to the O-ring and also pour some into the device.
- Spin on the new component observing the recommended tightening torque.
- Tighten the drain plug.
- Pour engine oil into the power unit but a bit less than needed. The exact oil amount is indicated in your car owner’s manual.
- Start the engine for a few minutes and shut it down.
- Check the oil level with the dipstick and top it up to the required level.
