Characteristics of SAE 10W-60 motor oils

This product belongs to lubricants of high viscosity. It is made for protection of the engines experiencing high loads when their components are significantly heated. It is relevant for sports cars for example. Due to high thickness, SAE 10W-60 oil can cause fuel consumption increase.

According to the standards envisaged for 10W lubricants, the minimum temperature they can be used at should be not lower than −30 °С. Otherwise the product will get so viscous that the oil pump won’t be able to pump it through the system.

The lubricants with 60 index can withstand the highest thermal loads. Their kinematic viscosity can be 21.9–26.1 mm2/s, and the dynamic one is 3.7 mPa⋅s. It means that even uprated engines will be securely protected when using them.

2. Replacement should be performed at a service station.
