According to the standards accepted by Daimler AG concern in 2002, MB 229.5 motor oils can be used in most petrol and diesel Mercedes-Benz engines without particulate filters. Such products exceed requirements of ACEA A3/B4 category by almost all parameters. They protect the engine more effectively from wear-out and carbon deposit, are more resistant to thermal oxidation and sludge formation. They can be of the following viscosity: 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30 and 5W-40. They are suitable for the power units with extended to 20,000 km service interval on condition of using the filters on the fleece basis, recommended by the manufacturer.

Nowadays, in West European countries MB 229.5 motor oils are approved for use in the following engines: M 122, M 132, M 133, M 156, M 159, M 176 (G500), M 177, M 178, M 266, M 270, M 271, M 271 EVO, M 272, M 273, M 274 and M 274 hybride (except 213053), M 276, M 278, M 281, M 200.71, M 152, M 157, M 158, M 275, M 277, M 279 and M 285, as well as OM 611, OM 612, OM 640, OM 642, OM 646, OM 647, OM 651.

Note:

1. It is only allowed to use the lubricants recommended by the car manufacturer.
2. Replacement should be performed at a service station.
