Are you looking for Gaskets and sealing rings for your auto? Then you have come to the right place!
- the destruction of the cylinder head gasket;
- damage or deformation of the gasket;
- normal wear and tear;
- displacement of the part.
- traces of soot on the gasket;
- motor oil stains;
- coolant leakage;
- formation of white foam in the engine oil (settles on the dipstick);
- white or bluish color of exhaust gases.
- low octane fuel;
- use of low-quality fuels and lubricants;
- failure of the spark plugs;
- deformation of the engine pistons;
- engine overheating;
- incorrect adjustment of the engine;
- incorrect installation of the gasket;
- uneven combustion of the fuel mixture;
- failure of the engine cooling system;
- damage to the sealing element;
- incorrect screwing of the cylinder head bolts.
To assess the state of the engine gasket, disconnect the cylinder head. Any cracks, damage of the sealing layer or the part deformation are due to errors of the fuel or the engine cooling systems.
In case of damage to the cylinder head gasket, a diagnosis of the fuel and engine cooling systems is also made.
The service life of the engine gasket is directly dependent on the characteristics of the system usage. With timely maintenance and normal care for all the systems of the engine, it can last more than 200,000 kilometers.
Replacing cylinder head gasketThe engine gasket cannot be repaired because it is a consumable item.
To replace the gasket, disconnect the cylinder head. This should be done very carefully to avoid damaging the screw slots. The best procedure for unwinding bolts is described in the technical documentation of the vehicle. Often they need to be unscrewed by 0.5-1 turnover, starting from the middle.
The strap force of the bolts is clearly defined. The process is performed in three stages. At first all the bolts, starting from the middle must be tightened to force 19-21 Nm. At the second stage it is necessary to tighten all the bolts to 90°. At the third, tighten them up to 100°. Thus, the bolt tightening is recommended to do with a torque wrench. It is important to remember that the application of excessive force can deform the gasket, and insufficient tightening of the bolts does not ensure the integrity of the system.
