Replacing the clutch pressure plate

  • set the car on a lift or a service pit;
  • disconnect the driveline and the clutch slave cylinder from the gearbox;
  • remove wire tips from the light switch terminals;
  • disconnect the clutch case from the cylinder block, and the power unit back support cross-beam from the body;
  • unscrew the two nuts securing the support;
  • move the gearbox all the way into the back of the floor hole (do not forget to put a support at the back of the gearbox);
  • unscrew six bolts securing the clutch cover, hold the flywheel using a tire lever (turn the crankshaft to access them);
  • remove the clutch pressure plate and install a new one, repeat the procedure in reverse order.
