When choosing an automotive battery based on the technology, be sure to check with your car manual and the battery label.
Also, consider the following parameters:
Capacity. It is measured in ampere-hours (Ah). For small cars with few power consuming devices, an automotive battery with the capacity of 36 Ah is enough, while sports cars need at least a 100 Ah battery.
Cold cranking amperes (CCA). Its is measured in amperes (A). The higher this figure, the more likely it is that the engine can be started in the winter. For petrol passenger cars, it should be at least 255 A, for diesel ones - not less than 300 A.
Size. An automotive battery with unsuitable dimensions will not fit your car.
Polarity. Depending on the location of the terminals, the polarity can either be straight or reverse. If you attempt to mount the battery in your car in such a way that the terminals are positioned improperly, this can lead to installation difficulties and risk of short circuits.
The average automotive battery life is 3-4 years. After it expires, the car battery should be replaced.
